Christmas Initiative ‘21

Children from Baja, Mexico

We had a fantastic day in Tijuana, spending time with some PRECIOUS kids.

On December 19th for our Christmas Initiative, we delivered and handed out backpacks, toys, and teddy bears. We bought piñatas at the market and stuffed them full of dulce and were able to provide a meal of tamales and macaroni salad and even had a special treat with the churro man coming! Thank you so much to all of our volunteers, donors, and partners for helping us make this possible. We could not have done it without you!

Below are just a few shots from the Christmas party in Tijuana. Lots of hungry bellies were filled! We played musical chairs, and every child attended got to take a teddy bear from The Teddy Ball and a backpack filled with goodies! It was so magical, and it couldn’t have happened without the donations we received and the volunteers who attended and worked all day organizing gifts, serving food, and setting up and hauling toys and supplies. We helped families that were living in extreme poverty.

We had children come that wash windows at the borderline, some deported families with American children, and Haitian refugees as well–It was quite the melting pot. Whatever your politics are, we can agree that anyone living on the streets cold and hungry in an economy and country with ZERO resources deserves help. And you know what? WE helped! Your donations and time go straight to supporting many different initiatives and causes that ease the suffering of these children and families. We are incredibly grateful to you for helping make this Christmas joyful for those who desperately need it. Merry Christmas to you, and a happy new year! Thank you again, and we wish you love, health, and happiness.

Sincerely,

Candice and the Journey to Refuge Team
